St Helens doctor denies ‘indecent act’ on Jetstar flight

A St Helens doctor has denied acting indecently towards a woman during a Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Launceston in May last year.

Charles James Morgan Griffiths pleaded not guilty to committing an offence on an aircraft in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The 69-year-old is accused of “committing an act of indecency on [the complainant] without her consent” and being “reckless as to whether she was consenting”.

The matter is expected to go to a hearing next year but Magistrate Simon Brown adjourned it for mention in December.

Mr Brown told the court he could no longer deal with the matter due to a conflict of interest.

Mr Griffiths was bailed to appear on December 12.
