After the success of Drag for Depression in August, organiser Hayden Lyons is again inviting the community to come together for glitter and a good cause.
While last time Beyond Blue were the beneficiaries, this time club-goers will be contributing to The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal.
The theme for the night is glitter, Christmas and wig fancy, with a best dressed competition to be included as part of the event. Lyons expecting no shortage of festive cheer from the night.
“Hopefully we will be able to get even more people this time,” he said.
“I’ve had a lot of interest from people that attended the first event, who say they are going to bring their friends along, which is great.”
To be launched in the coming weeks, The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal raises funds for Salvation Army, Benevolent Society, St Vincent de Paul Society and City Mission.
The Club 54 Drag Night will be held on December 9 from 9pm.
Entry is $5.
