The floral beauty of Franklin House was on full display throughout Sunday, as its Spring Garden Party was held.
A fundraiser for the upkeep of the site, guests including the Launceston Colonial Strollers walked through at their leisure to the sounds of the Launceston City Band, while Franklin House volunteers manned plant and condiment stalls, as well as a barbecue.
Chairperson Julie Dineen said they could not have picked a better date for the event.
“It’s the perfect time to showcase everything the gardens have to offer,” she said.
“We want to raise awareness of the work we do here.”
The day was not just about the gardens, with a croquet court set up for those who wanted to learn how to play, as well as rock painting for children.
