Franklin House Committee chairperson Julie Dineen said the event aims to raise funds for the property and to show people the beauty of the gardens.
“We thought as the garden is particularly beautiful at the moment that we’d have a spring garden party. The party’s aim is to raise funds for the restoration projects we need doing. We rely on fundraising and grants to keep the property in good condition,” she said.
Ms Dineen said there would be something for everyone.
“We’ll be serving Devonshire teas and a barbecue, the Launceston City Band and Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra will performing, and there will be games for children. People can just come and bring a picnic rug,” Ms Dineen said.
The event will run from 11am to 3pm. Entry to the garden party is free.
