The squad to be coached by former first-class cricket Shannon Tubb includes Riverside top-order batsman Oliver Wood, Mowbray leg-spinner Jarrod Freeman, Launceston paceman Dominic Rawlings and South Launceston’s James Beattie.
Tasmania’s first match of the tournament will be against New South Wale Metro at Twin Ovals on Monday, December 4 with four other pool matches to follow.
Two of which will be played in Launceston.
UTAS Stadium will play host to the under-19 championships first ever day-night contest when the hosts take on Vic Metro on Friday, December 8.
Bellerive oval will then host one as Australia’s young cricketers battle for selection in next year’s national squad for the ICC under-19 world cup in New Zealand during January and February.
It will be the first time Tasmania has hosted the championships since season 2013-14.
