The Evandale Gardening Group’s inaugural open garden event Roses and Ribbons will showcase a variety of gardens while supporting Breast Cancer Network Australia on Sunday.
Group member Jan Foote said it would give the public a chance to get behind the fences of stunning gardens at the historic town.
Member Stephanie Kensitt said the charity was chosen as everyone they know knew of someone affected by breast cancer.
The private gardens include Fallgrove on Logan Street, Ros Palmer’s romantic garden on the corner of Macquarie St, a cottage garden at Murray St, a hidden garden at Leybourne on High St and a country garden on Nile Rd.
While Clarendon House gardens are not formally part of the event, they will be open to ticket holders.
- Tickets for Roses and Ribbons open gardens will be available from each garden or from the Evandale Information Centre and cost $5 per garden, $20 for all the gardens, $30 for a couple and free for children. There is no EFTPOS machine at Evandale.
