Set in a fictional Tasmanian town, the show has been a ratings and critical hit since it debuted in 2016.
It will now line up for Best Screenplay for Television, Best Television Comedy Series and Best Performance in a Television Comedy for Celia Pacquola at the awards which will be announced on December 6.
The timing couldn’t be better for the series which debuted the first episode of its second season last week.
Tasmanian productions also fared well in the other categories with Lion, the story of Tasmanian Saroo Brierley, receiving 12 nominations in the feature film categories, while Matt Evans’ Gourmet Farmer was nominated for Best Lifestyle Television Program.
State Minister for Arts, Elise Archer, said it was a proud moment for everyone involved in the projects.
“Congratulations to all those nominated, especially the Tasmanian cast and crews who worked on the nominated projects, and we thank those who continue to work with locals to take our stories to the world,” she said.
“The state government has invested heavily in the screen production industry and the state is now reaping the rewards.”
