More than 30 stalls, and about 200 people, attended the first event held at the site’s new Nigel Peck Centre.
Organiser Louise Scott said the event was about showcasing all the items for someone’s big day.
“I’m a big believer in the wedding and bridal industry in Tasmania and trying to keep everyone trying to buy local,” Ms Scott said.
“We want to reduce the number of people buying online. We want brides to feel really special and enjoy the experience they get from local exhibitors than they would get from anywhere else.”
A bride to be from Sydney also stopped by the expo to suss out the potential location for her big day.
More than 50 dresses from Timeless Elegance were modelled during a fashion parade, attracting the attention of a lot of potential brides.
“I saw a lot of smiling faces. I think it’s been really good,” Ms Scott said.
