Hordes of families flocked to Saturday’s event, with the show society reporting similarly strong numbers to 2016.
Longford Show Society secretary Kristy Springer said they received positive feedback from stall holders early in the day.
“They were all very happy with how much business they were doing,” she said.
“The animal wranglers also attracted a big crowd early on.”
Other popular attractions included the animal nursery, the alpaca championships, and the sheep handlers competition.
There was also a steady flow of people through the Home Industries section, where everything from cakes to collages was on display.
New exhibits for this year’s show included lego building, which was enjoyed by people of all ages throughout the day.
The weather was among the highlights, with show-goers treated to bright sunshine for the duration of the show. Saturday marked the show’s 161st year.
