Ice skating, cold water surfing, bike packing, rock climbing, skiing, wrestling and mountaineering, all taken on by women, will be featured on the big screen.
The Women’s Adventure Film Tour is presented by Colorado-based film festival Mountainfilm and She Went Wild, and hosted locally by adventure tourism company Cradle Mountain Canyons.
The film series aims to inspire women to greater adventures and showcase the talent of women across the globe pursuing adventurous lives.
Anna Paice from Cradle Mountain Canyons said bringing the tour to Tasmania celebrated all women making outdoor recreation an important part of their lives.
“They often do it with less ego and with less to prove than the blokes, but they can pretty easily find themselves on equal footing with the men out there in all sorts of pursuits including mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, ultra running and skiing,” she said.
The films will be shown at The Tramsheds Auditorium in Inveresk on Friday, October 27, from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets are available at womensadventurefilmtour.com
