After Denise Scott’s last experience in Tasmania during Ten Days of the Island, she hopes this trip is full of laughs but maybe a little less drama.
“I remember we were in the Spiegeltent and it was really cold outside, but really hot in the tent,” she said.
“I was about to start when I heard a thud and a lady in the audience had passed out, I waited with her for the ambulance to come and she was okay, but I hadn’t even started yet.”
Scott first started working as a professional actor and comedian nearly thirty years ago.
Her most recent work, which will travel to Tasmania in 2018, is Disappointments which also stars Judith Lucy.
The show has been critically acclaimed and won the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s People’s Choice Award, been performed at London’s Soho Theatre and sold out shows across Australia.

Scott says she likes to find the humour in real life – from her arthritic knees to the death of loved ones – because where there is laughter, there is power.
“There is something about being surrounded by laughter in a room full of strangers,” she said.
“It’s very important to reflect on those things with humour.”
Scott will feature in The Fresh Comedy Gala. alongside Sammy J, Rhys Nicholson and Anne Edmonds on Saturday, November 4 at The Princess Theatre.
