The community can expect to see an increased police presence near St John Street and may hear simulated gun shots.
Sergeant Dean McMahon said the exercise provides an excellent opportunity for emergency service workers to practice and refine their response skills in a safe environment.
Police will hold a second training at the Paterson Barracks on October 25.
A five-week police training program was held in March this year.
More than 60 Tasmania Police officers participated in a range of simulated exercises as part of the program.
University of Tasmania Stadium was closed off for three hours as officers took part in role-play based exercises, which focused on the apprehension of armed offenders.
