Produced by Dairy Australia as part of its Legendairy project, the video highlights the Ringarooma community’s commitment to its dairy industry.
The video recognises the contribution and hard work of those who made the regional title a reality, Dairy Australia’s community project manager Natasha Busbridge said.
“From dairy farmers to community members, this video highlights the vital role the dairy industry plays in communities like Ringarooma,” Ms Busbridge said,
“Ringarooma’s dairy heritage was on full display when we visited. The town pulled together to welcome us with a community event which showcased their pride in the dairy industry,” she said.
As the Tasmanian regional winner, Ringarooma received a $2500 community grant to complete the Ringarooma Primary School bike track and giant chess board, extend the school’s vegetable garden and maintain the town’s defibrillator.
Dairy Australia’s Legendairy Capital program is a nationwide celebration of Australia’s regional communities, with the national capital winner announced soon.
Australia’s other Legendairy Regional Capitals for 2017 are:
- Poowong (Gippsland)
- Cohuna (Murray Region)
- Hannam Vale (New South Wales)
- Mount Schank (South Australia)
- Beaudesert (Subtropical Region)
- Cowaramup (Western Australia)
- Simpson (Western Victoria).
