Canberra United goal-scoring ace Ashleigh Sykes will chase glory in the United States before returning to the capital to chase W-League glory.

Sykes is set to re-sign with Canberra United in the coming weeks for another W-League season.
But the 25-year-old striker has a chance to claim a National Women's Soccer League title when the Portland Thorns play against the North Carolina Courage in the grand final on Sunday.
Sykes has played 15 games for the Thorns this season but has scored just one goal after being the W-League golden-boot winner last year.
She will be playing against former Canberra teammate Hayley Raso in the final as the pair prepare to fight for a championship.
Sykes is trying to help Portland win its second NWSL title. "I knew me coming here there wasn't a high likelihood of me playing very much to be honest. I was ready for that really," Sykes told The Women's Game.
"My aim was really to just learn from training, from any game time that I could get and from the people around me. So mentally it has been really good for me to have played as much as I have."
"It has been a good challenge for me to be in this high pressure environment. They expect a lot from the people that are playing here and it is what I needed and a part of my game I needed to work on."
