Lead by Lachie Cossor and part of the Outback Stockman Show, the act have traveled all the way from Longreach, Queensland and proved a highlight on Thursday’s show day entertainment program.
With 16 animals on show, Mr Cossor said the act is aimed at bringing a bit of the outback to Tasmania and is a great way for kids to get the feel for what life is like for a traditional Australian stockman.
“For us it is all about putting smiles on faces,” he said.
“We want families to come along and check it out because where else would they get to see animals like this up close, putting on great show.
“We do a different thing every time and I would say there is a little bit of something for everyone.”
Along with Ernie and Jigsaw, punters can also expect to see sheep dogs in action, a mischievous goat and a few surprise acts along the way.
Mr Cossor said that it had been six years since the act last performed at the Royal Launceston Show but that it was always nice to see the different reactions from the crowds.
“I guess for kids here it might be something that they have never seen before,” he said.
“That is one great thing about Royals, bringing animals and kids together.”
The Animal Wrangler show can be seen on on Friday and Saturday at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.
