At a private dinner in Hobart last month, Errol and Adie Stewart’s “loyalty, dedication and perseverance” in the changing motor industry was recognised.
Mr Stewart held the dealer principal position at Jackson Ford in Launceston for 25 years and previously Errol Stewart Ford in Bairnsdale for eight years.
While he still oversees the JMC Automotive Group, he has handed over the dealer principal-role to Patrick Heyward.
“If I can help grow and build the business even a small amount comparable to Errol’s feats over the many years he has been in control, I will be doing a good job,” Mr Heyward said.
Mr Stewart started as the dealer principal at Jackson Ford in Launceston in 1992.
He began with 44 employees and one new car franchise.
The company now has more than 340 employees.
