Expect an eclectic mix from Beethoven to Eskimo Joe to appear on the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra’s 2018 season.
Starting with free event Symphony under the Stars in Launceston, it will be followed by a Beethoven Violin Concerto and a series of concerts featuring artists who will make their TSO debut during its 70th anniversary season next year.
Among those artists are pianist Nelson Freire, Simon Trpčeski and Jayson Gillham, while violinist Veronika Eberle and mandolin player Avi Avital will also make their TSO debut.
Other concerts include Eskimo Joe + the TSO, Katie Noonan's Elixir: Gratitude and Grief with cartoonist Michael Leunig , and An Evening with Greta Bradman.
Music inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet will be scattered throughout a series of concerts.
International guests during the season include up-and-coming American maestra Karina Canellakis and British pianist Steven Osborne.
