Making the change from suburbia to semi-rural living has never been more appealing, thanks to a new subdivision in Carrick.
Hawthorn Park is conveniently located a mere 15-minute drive to the CBD retaining a good proximity to schools, while still keeping the rural lifestyle.
What Shaw Property Developments have created is a destination, a subdivision, unlike anything you have seen before.
Australian made no maintenance white fences line the newly created Charlies Lane, with expansive views of the Great Western Tiers and the surrounding countryside.
The investment in the area is clear with locals already taking advantage of the newly built walking track.
Developer Tim Shaw said he was “incredibly proud” of Hawthorn Park.
“We wanted to create somewhere that had an identity and wasn’t just another development,” he said.
“This has been achieved by investing in the area, creating a walking track for the community, and taking the time to present the land, with the fencing and larger driveways.
“I have had great support from the Meander Valley Council, my team, and subcontractors.
“It has been a great, fun project to do in my home area and something I am proud to attach my name to.”
The blocks have been carefully planned out and offer anywhere from 5 acres to 40 acre lots, with the freedom to build how you want.
“Time and consideration to easy living and building have been put into every block of land,” Tim said.
“The idea is you can buy a property that suits you, if you want space for the kids to play, a hobby farm or space to run horses we have options suitable for all.”
“Owners won’t be boxed in and are free to build how they want, the hardest thing to do will be to pick what view to wake up to.”
Speaking about the highlights to living in the area Tim said.
“For me, I have a young family and the ability to let kids grow up in the countryside would have to be a highlight, the freedom of letting them play on the property and know they are safe gives you great peace of mind.
“The Carrick community has been very supportive of Hawthorn Park, it is a great community to be a part of.”
Name plays honour to local ghost
While Hawthorn Park is named after the original homestead on the property, the name Charlies Lane has a very different story attached.
Local legend is a ghost named Charlie haunts the Carrick Inn after being murdered in the billiard room in the 1900’s. Owners of the pub say Charlie is still very much there, but he isn’t a nasty ghost, rather a ghost that likes to play jokes.
For developer Tim, the name not only pays homage to the local ghost but his youngest daughter Charlie.
