Mustering their courage, pupils at Trevallyn Primary School are preparing to shave their hair for CanTeen’s National Bandana Day.

This year 68 pupils are joining the cause aiming to raise as much as they can, increasing the school’s overall funds raised of $50,000 for CanTeen.
Grade 6 pupil Sam Hugo has placed a fundraising can at Barber on George, supported by Hamish Mackean, and is asking anyone to drop in and donate their spare coins to the cause.
“It’s to raise money for people who have cancer,” fellow pupil Cade Sather said.
“All the school will be watching.”
Boys, girls and teachers are all shaving and cutting their hair, with girls cutting 20cm off to be sent off to Pantene to become wigs for cancer patients.
Assistant Principal Jane Hudson said the event had been running for six years at Trevallyn Primary, becoming their own fundraising tradition.
The great shave will take place on Friday October 27 at 9.40am at the Max Fry Hall in Trevallyn.
