Duty forecaster Tony Yates said the next few days would see showers continuing on and off because of a low-pressure system.
“[The system] is basically an area of low pressure, you have lows and highs, and generally low pressures are associated with poor weather,” he said.
The bulk of the rain was expected to fall on Wednesday night as a rain band passes over the state.
About five millimetres of rain was expected.
Mr Yates said the weather was “not overly significant” for a typical Tasmanian spring.
“Spring weather is always a little all over the place. We are still in what would be referred to as a mid-winter pattern, and we’ll be in that for the next few days at least,” he said.
