Held over two nights, about 16 different primary school choirs will perform on Wednesday or Thursday at Albert Hall, eight per night.
Singfest committee president Nelson Tabe said the committee had to turn away schools as there were too many interested in participating to fit in the two night extravaganza.
Entering into its 9th year, Tabe said he was overwhelmed when he first heard 300 primary students, aged nine to 12, sing together.
The choir showcase was an exciting opportunity for students from private and public schools to meet as well as international students to be involved in a large celebration of singing, he said.
About 300 students would perform seven songs, with each of the eight choirs singing their own song as well, Tabe said. “Come along and experience the beauty of children singing.”
Both nights will start from 6.30pm and tickets are available for $10 from the Princess Theatre box office.
