The retired public servant won division one in TattsLotto draw 3775 on Saturday.
He was one of four new millionaire division one winners across Australia, each of whom took home a division one prize of $1,009,035.64.
When asked how the winner planned to spend his TattsLotto windfall he admitted it would help pay off the mortgage and assist with him retirement plans.
The winning entry was purchased from Kings Meadows News and Lotto at 116 Hobart Road
The regular player wishes to remain anonymous but said he has been playing TattsLotto for years.
“I’ve been playing forever, can’t even remember how long I’ve been registered for but it has been years and years and years,” he said.
“I’ve never won more than five grand, I’m just stoked.”
The man said he had to chat with his wife about exactly how to spend the windfall.
“My wife will be stoked when I tell her,” he said,
“We will probably pay off the house and some debts and I’ll be able to relax in retirement.
“My car is only 20 years old, so a new one might be good.”
Owner of Kings Meadow News and Lotto Jeffrey Dolbey said he was extremely happy to hear his outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
“We’ve sold 19 division one winning entries here, and we have averaged about one a year, and this is the first one for us this year so we are thrilled,” he said,
“It is great for the local community and we are thrilled for the winner and their family and friends.”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3775 on Saturday were 44, 6, 40, 45, 13 and 8.
The supplementary numbers were 16 and 2.
Across Australia there were four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3775 – one each from Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales and Queensland.
Last financial year, there were 275 division one winning TattsLotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $283 million.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 315 so far this calendar year, including 114 won by Tatts customers.
