In its second year the flower and garden festival is expecting an increase on last year’s 3000 visitors, estimating a 5000 visitor turnout over Saturday and Sunday.
Gardeners, landscape designers, artists and specialists have set up shop to share their knowledge and ideas, learn through special workshops upstairs and take some time to tour Launceston’s surrounds for a number of open gardens.
Blooming Tasmania’s Jennie Chapman said it was wonderful to see an increasingly diverse range of stallholders and experts attending, with the show’s layout and structure based on the highly successful Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
She said with landscape and nursery stalls out in City Park this year, it’s hoped next year will see more attendees enjoy the “ideal” Launceston surrounds for the weekend of floral and gardening enjoyment. The show is open Sunday from 9am to 4pm at the Albert Hall.
