The Roos were down by five points with a term to play but a four-goal-to-zero final 25 minutes was enough for Keegan Bailey’s men to get the job done by three goals against the minor premiers.
The opening quarter was a tight affair with both sides nailing three majors each, however, it was the Blues that took in a slender one-point advantage.
Wet conditions failed to slow the frenetic pace of play with end-to-end football the order of the second term until Launceston started to wrestle back control with two late goals to send them into the main break 6.3 (39) to 4.1 (25) up.
Blues Ethan Conway and Matthew Spohn had two goals to half-time, as did Kangaroos leading goal-kicker and captain Luke Murfitt-Cowen.
The third stanza started with a soccer goal from Roo Shane Bradford before Blues veteran Jordan Harris responded in the sixth minute.
Murfitt-Cowen slotted through his third, which was backed up soon after by James Brenner to level the score. The goal umpires were kept busy with a series of behinds before Zac Oldenhof sent Launceston into the final rest stop with a five-point buffer.
From there it was all Clarence, kicking four-straight goals to just three Launceston behinds – turning the second semi-final result on its head and winning back-to-back 11.7 (73) to 8.7 (55).
Murfitt-Cowen was adjudged best on ground for his four-goal display.
