In a Facebook post, the council said “offensive” graffiti had been plastered on the flood levy walkway behind the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery.
City of Launceston acting general manager Michael Tidey said vandalism of our public spaces is unacceptable.
"The City of Launceston's cleansing crew regularly responds to requests to clean up graffiti on council-owned infrastructure around the municipality,” he said.
He encouraged anyone who witnesses graffiti to report it to Tasmania Police on 131 444.
