Aboriginal Culture
TASMANIAN Aboriginal cultural sites are unique and the only one way to truly protect this rich heritage in the Tarkine, is to have the Tarkine listed as a World Heritage Area. I would like to think that most four-wheel-drive owners are responsible drivers, and that they stay to the established tracks, but there are those who have the need to “bush bash” to get their thrills, and without policing, they are the ones who destroy what is culturally and archaeologically irreplaceable.

Sunday Relax Article
CONGRATULATIONS to reporter Carly Dolan (The Sunday Examiner, September 17). Her story on Vicki Purcell and how she helps those who have lost their babies was heartwarming. I'm sure any grieving parents really appreciate what she does.

Cassini
CASSINI, thanks for the outstanding and amazing, never before seen photographic images of Saturn in our solar system. You were named after the 17th century astronomer Giovanni Cassini and may I say, have done him proud.
The unmanned spacecraft's journey (which was launched on October 15, 1997), of a staggering 7.9 billion kilometres has now come to an end, by crashing into the planet itself. So long ol’ fella. You have left behind, for mankind, a valuable legacy.

Op Shops
I DO not agree that Op shops should be giving clothes away. They are opportunity shops not gift shops. Money raised from selling gifted goods is used to help those in need.
Already there is help out there providing food, warm blankets. Sadly there are those who are looking for free everything.
I’m fairly sure most op shops would give to someone who is obviously struggling, however nothing is very expensive in an op shop. Volunteers keep the op shops open, people donate freely because they all want to help others. Give them the credit they deserve please.
