The training exercise will test the airport’s emergency plan. A plane will be involved in the operation.
Police said passengers have no need to be alarmed by the large number of emergency service vehicles at the airport from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday.
The testing is a mandatory requirement of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and is conducted by the airport every two years.

Acting Inspector Mark Burke said about 50 volunteers and emergency service responders will be involved in the training operation.
“The exercise provides an excellent opportunity for emergency services to practice and refine their responses to real emergencies, in what will be a lifelike but safe environment to do so,” he said.
The public is reminded to keep clear of routes accessed by emergency service workers.
“On behalf of everyone involved, we thank the public and any travellers for their cooperation and understanding while we conduct this necessary training exercise,” said Acting Inspector Burke.
Flight schedules will not be disrupted by the training operation.
