Police attempted to pull over the 36-year-old driver when he was seen speeding along High Street at Campbell Town about noon.
The man drove off at “excessive speed” and headed north on the Midland Highway while overtaking a number of cars, police said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He was eventually charged with evading police, driving while disqualified, reckless driving, speeding and drug possession.
