Boosting donations to charity op shops is the aim of the fifth National Op Shop Week, running from August 27 - September 2, 2017.
“Giving clothes is a great way to help the community," said Jon Dee, the Managing Director of Do Something and founder of National Op Shop Week.
“We need the Australian public to dig deep into their wardrobes and donate good quality clothing directly to their nearest charity op shops."
This year the Salvation Army are encouraging people to spring clean for your local op shop.

We encourage you to get on board and join in the fun, support your local op shop and celebrate the amazing work the stores do by upcycling to help others in need and the environment.
Spring starts September 1st, so this is a great opportunity to spring clean to get rid of everything you no longer love or wear, and donate them to a Salvos Store near you.
More and more Australians are turning to Op Shop stores to buy clothes, however, charity op shops still need good quality donations, so making a donation can help op shops from running short of stock.
Your op shop donations will help fund some great community programs across Northern Tasmania.
Salvos Stores provide $35 million each year to fund vital work in the community on a weekly basis across a range of areas including aged care, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, crisis and support accommodation, youth support and more.
Donating also ensures that your pre-loved goods live on and find a new purpose, reducing landfill and helping the environment.
In 2016, Salvos Stores diverted 30,000 tonnes of donated items from landfill.
Many Australians have clothes in their wardrobes they’ve only worn once or some that even still have tags on!
So if your stuff is getting you down, now is the perfect time to consider decluttering.
And if that’s not your thing, consider it as making space for you to update your spring wardrobe with some great op shop bargains!
You’ll find lots of great labels, unique items, cool vintage and collectables at your local store.
And even better, all of Salvos stores in Northern Tasmania will be running a buy one get one half price promotion on pre-loved goods in store all day on Saturday, September 2nd.
