After winning the Blues’ top award two years ago, Evans spent 2016 in Western Australia but returned to the club this year, playing 15 games and featuring in his team’s best on 13 occasions.
The Riverside High School product was his side’s best performer in matches against finalists Lilydale, Evandale and St Pats and kicked bags of two against Uni-Mowbray and Bridport.
MEANDER utility Joel Holloway won back-to-back best-and-fairests with another solid season for the Suns.
Holloway polled many of his 83 votes playing across half-back but was also deployed in other roles, kicking four goals in his side’s round 14 rout of Uni-Mowbray.
Midfielder Ross Tulich finished runner-up with 76 votes.
Brennan Cresswell made the best possible start to his first season as TAMAR coach by being named the Cats’ player of the season.
The Beauty Point cricketer recorded four best-on-ground performances over 16 games, and missed out on being in his side’s best players on only three occasions.
Cresswell’s consistency helped him edge out teammate Jacob Parker, who was best-on-ground in five matches.
Jamie Rayner was named best and fairest in a disappointing season for PROSPECT.
Named in his side’s best players on 11 occasions, Rayner was in hot form towards the end of the season, putting in best-on-ground performances in rounds 10 and 11 against Old Launcestonians and Old Scotch.
He was also a handy contributor up forward, kicking eight goals for the season.
