Traffic lights at The Esplanade and Lower Charles intersection, where a man was run over by a bus on Thursday afternoon, are still out.
Lights at Forster Street have also been impacted.
Tasmania Police is advising the community to avoid the area while the scene is cleared.
UPDATE 1.20pm:
A 70-year-old Youngtown man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was run over by a bus at Invermay.
Police said the man was walking on a pedestrian crossing when a Redline bus turned onto the road and struck him.
The victim was crossing on a green pedestrian light and the bus was travelling through a green traffic light.
Police said early investigations indicated the driver had not seen the man crossing.
Crash investigators remain at the scene.
EARLIER:
A person has been hit by a bus in inner-city Launceston.
Emergency services are responding to the incident, which occurred about noon on Thursday.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Lower Charles Street, and Lindsay Street, at the slip-lane from the Bunnings North Launceston access.
Tasmania Police has asked motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area until further notice.
Details around the victim and their injuries are not yet known.
