The guest readers, which included journalist Lana Best, drama and theatre studies professor Liz Bennett, farm manager Mark Griffin, public speaker Rulla Kelly-Mansell and more, told the students how reading had impacted their lives.
“As well as exploring the short-listed books in greater depth, students interviewed the guest readers about the role of literacy in their own lives,” principal Mary Wall said.
“We recognised a need for our children to understand that literacy is essential for success in all aspects of life.”
One student said the speakers taught him how important reading was to success.
