Tasmanian hospitality businesses celebrate at industry awards

Several northern Tasmanian hospitality businesses walked away winners at a hospitality industry awards night on Monday.

Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) and TasTAFE Awards for Excellence were announced as businesses gathered to celebrate their hard work and dedication during the year.

Association general manager Steve Old congratulated all nominees and finalists with a special acknowledgement for the winners.

Country Club Tasmania and The Bridport Bunker Club both took out multiple categories.

Steve Irvine, from Country Club Tasmania, won the Employee of the Year award.

Black Cow Bistro and 9/11 Launceston City both won individual categories.

“The standard of excellence is higher than ever before which is wonderful news not only for guests in our venues but for the industry as a whole,” Mr Old said.

“Many of the winners from tonight will go on to represent Tasmania at the National Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Awards for Excellence on the Gold Coast on Monday 18th September at RACV Royal Pines Resort,” Mr Old said.
