CoDesign Studio is running the feedback sessions and project manager Alicia Otto said the opinions would be collated and given to the University of Tasmania and City of Launceston.
“We are seeking to get ideas and create a better integrated site between the city an the campus,” she said.
CoDesign’s brief is to get feedback from the public to help make sure the University and council’s investment will get the best outcome for the enitre community.
“A lot of the feedback is about making the city and the university more connected, if there is events at the city also having them out at the campus to create that shared space feeling and not have the university out there by itself. There are positives and negatives coming out of all of the engagement sessions.”
Parking has been a major conversation from users of the site, as has the future location of where the showgrounds will be.
“Our consultation will collect the majority of the ideas and community sentiment and then it’s up to the project team to expand on that.”
