The legislative council aims to assess the benefits, disadvantages and challenges associated with the Tasmanian government being in control of the state’s water and sewerage.
Individuals and organisations can send a written submission to the inquiry secretary email two@parliament.tas.gov.au by Friday, September 8.
The committee will be chaired by Launceston MLC Rosemary Armitage, who previously told Fairfax Tasmania the inquiry was a good way towards establishing the pros and cons of the government’s proposed takeover by the time the bill actually comes to the House.
Two public hearings into the TasWater ownership proposal will also be held on September 13 and 14.
