The camp is in preparation for six under-13 and under-18 Tasmanian teams to compete at the national youth championships on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, from September 13-16.
Touch Football Tasmania operations manager Sam Story said the camp would be a great learning experience for the state’s young stars.
“Their knowledge of the game at the highest level will provide the teams with insight on how to take their games to the next level,” Story said.
“Tasmania will have two strong under-18 teams competing to take out the highest youth title in the sport.
“The under-15s will also get a chance to shine on the big stage, when they compete against the best schools from around Australia in the school championships.
“The under-13 boys and girls will compete against Victoria on October 15-17 in the inaugural ‘Battle of the Bass’ tournament.”
Story said both divisions were looking towards long-term success leading into Tasmania hosting the touch football School Sport Australia championships in October, 2018.
