On Friday it was revealed a number of Old Scotch players were banned from its NTCA Ground base after allegations were made of anti-social behaviour in a secret hideout within the roof of its council-owned complex.
It was understood Old Scotch players tapped into the main power source and fitted the hidey-hole with carpet, lounges and a sound system.
The council’s general manager Robert Dobrzynski was aware “that some damage to the building recently occurred”, but said it was rectified “as soon as the NTCA discovered it”.
"Any allegation of ongoing danger to the community as a result of such activity will result in the council taking action,” he said.
"In this instance we are aware of the works that the leaseholders of the ground, the NTCA, have undertaken to rectify the building and I am satisfied that their response has been appropriate to the circumstances.”
AFL Tasmania chief executive Rob Auld did not comment about how the incident would affect the perception of the game and its players.
"We have great confidence in Paul Reynolds and the board of the NTFA and it is with that confidence that we are comfortable that the matter is being handled appropriately and with the right investigation,” he said.
"To date, the matter has not been raised with AFL Tasmania or the Tasmanian Football Council."
An Aurora Energy spokesman said there were penalties for contract breaches.
