If you are attending Sunday’s AFL match in Launceston you will be greeted at Gate 7, near the architecture school, by a team collecting donations for four local charities.
The Examiner editor Courtney Greisbach said more than $40,000 had been raised in just over a month.
“The appeal assists four local charities, the Salvation Army, Benevolent Society, City Mission and St Vincent de Paul, to offer support to members of our community who are doing it tough this winter,” she said.
Gates for Hawthorn’s clash with North Melbourne open at 1.15pm and the game will kick off at 3.20pm at the University of Tasmania Stadium.
