Cricket Tasmania said Rigby brings a strong track record in building and growing revenue in elite sport, having held senior positions at the Brisbane Lions Football Club and with Queensland Cricket/Brisbane Heat.
Cricket Tasmania CEO Nick Cummins said he was confident Rigby would help the Hurricanes form stronger community partnerships, boost membership numbers and entertaining visitors expected in Hobart and Launceston this Big Bash League season.
“Phil knows the Australian cricket landscape and will bring extensive experience from the commercial arm of the Big Bash League to Cricket Tasmania,” Cummins said.
“He has worked with Queensland Cricket to turn around their commercial performance and secure the biggest commercial club partnership in Big Bash history.”
