They will be in the Southern country boys and girls championship to be played at Colebrook on October 3 and at the Northern student championship at Launceston Golf Club on October 6.

State selections
Golf Tasmania has announced that Zahara Lemon, of Tasmania Golf Club, will represent the state in the Queensland women’s strokeplay at Bribie Island in late August.
Also Mark Schulze and junior Tim Smith, both of Tasmania, will play in the Mandurah amateur open in early September.
Next year the boys interstate series will be played in Western Australia and this will be a great opportunity for Smith in his preparation.
Dixon tribute
The Northern golfing community was saddened to hear of the death last week of Bob Dixon.
A member of the Launceston Golf Club for more than 50 years, Dixon had served as a director, captain and president and had been awarded life membership of the club for his outstanding contribution.
His passion for the game was well known and extended to Northern golf administration where he was a committee member of the Northern Tasmanian Golf Association through the 1980s.
Dixon was a well-respected manager for the Northern team that contested the Thyne Trophy and a great ambassador for both his club and Northern golf.
He would never shirk an issue and was always forthright in his conviction. He will be sadly missed.
