Launceston Tornadoes will look to inspiration from captain Lauren Mansfield on her award-winning form ahead of the side’s cutthroat semi-final on Friday night.

Mansfield was named a starter in the All-SEABL second team of the year.

The returning Opals star also finished 10th in MVP voting and was also given the golden hands award.

The Tornadoes travel to Hobart on the back of a three-game losing streak.

The fourth-placed south conference side lost the right to host the anticipated intrastate final after suffering a 28-point loss at Dandenong when the Chargers got home down the road at Frankston.

Launceston coach Richard Dickel is desperate to tighten up his Torns after conceding a heavy 55 first-half points.

“It’s just coming out with the right intensity defensively and locking in the right things defensively,” he said.

“We just don’t do it for long enough periods yet.

“That’s basically where we are at with it.”
