For a limited season, Stage Right Youth Theatre will bring Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday, Pugsley along with the rest of the spooky clan for a musical production of The Addams Family.
The Addams Family director Danny Gibson said it took three months to put the show together with a cast of 85 students aged five to 18.
Each year, he tried to find something challenging for his drama school to perform and could not go past the catchy modern musical, which people of all ages could enjoy, Mr Gibson said.
While Mr Gibson did not want to reveal too much, he said the show was a new storyline, revolving around Wednesday trying to keep a secret from her mother Morticia.
The students had given up most of their weekends for months to prepare for the show, he said.
Wednesday, brought to life by Saki White, 17, has been with Stage Right Youth Theatre for the past 11 years.
“I’ve never been the sporty type at school … theatre was a chance to jump into something new,” Saki said.
“[Wednesday]’s got her dark stubborn side, but she’s also got a loving side which shows her complexity.”
The show was a great opportunity to showcase young talent in the area who came from different schools and backgrounds, she said.
The Addams Family production is on at the Princess Theatre on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night at 7.30pm.
Tickets are on sale for $28 for adults and $22.50 for under 18s from theatrenorth.com.au or 6323 3666.
