Tamar’s Claire Deavin dominated the midfield providing much-needed opportunities in their attacking half, but they struggled to convert.
Queechy fought to get the ball past Tamar’s solid defensive unit lead by Ianthe Boden and were rewarded with two more goals before half time. Tamar threw everything at Queechy, but the Penguins’ strength and fitness claimed a 5-0 win.
South Burnie enjoyed a comfortable 6-0 win over Devonport despite the Hawks early control. The Hawks’ Raeleigh Phillips opened the scoring with a drag flick off a penalty corner before securing another two goals to lead 3-0 at half time. Devonport struggled to find their footing and shut the Hawks down.
South Launceston Suns dominated the Smithton Saints. The Suns’ clean transfers and strength over the ball provided multiple scoring opportunities with Claire Symonds putting home four goals. Sonia Poke attempted to rally the Saints, but the Suns proved too strong, posting a 10-0 win.
West Devonport defeated Launceston City, with Angela Sheahen, Sam Lawrence and Danielle Emmett scoring within the first seven minutes.
Launceston City fought back at quarter-time, preventing the home side scoring further. However, the visitors struggled to convert possession into scoreboard pressure and West added to their comfortable top-of-the-ladder lead with a 3-0 win.
