The visitors extended their lead over their seventh-ranked opponents at every change to win 17.16 (118) to 6.10 (46).
North coach Tom Couch, Brad Cox-Goodyear, Josh Ponting and debutant Ben Simpson controlled the midfield passage by taking full advantage of Alex Lee’s ruck work.
Zach Burt and Couch finished with four majors each, Cox-Goodyer chipped in with three and Cody Lowe, in his first game, converted two along with Bart McCulloch.
“It was a consistent game across the four quarters… all three lines really achieved their focus for the week,” Couch said.
“The ball use out of the backline was great with the run and carry from Jay Foon and Kailem Baker and Tom Donnelly on the wing linked up really well. Benny Simpson showed a lot of poise at the contest and his decision making and skills really stood out playing onball and forward, while Cody attacked the ball well in the air.”
The Tigers pressured North early but struggled to keep up with them in the second half despite Lachlan Gadomski earning kudos for his efforts off half back.
Bombers young gun Tarryn Thomas went down with a knee injury in the final term but Couch said there did not appear to be serious damage caused.
“At this stage he thinks it’s only a bit of a twist but we’ve got to wait and see what the physio has to say, but Tarryn is already talking about next week,” he said.
