The apprentices, from Alice Springs, Darwin and Katherine, finished up a two-week training block at TasTAFE Alanvale on Friday.
Their visit to Tasmania is part of a contract the state government has with the NT to provide Certificate III in cabinet-making.
Teacher Stephen Kirkman has been travelling to and from the NT to facilitate the partnership which sees apprentices visit Tasmania two or three times over their four year course.
“It’s a win-win for us,” Mr Kirkman said. “These guys travel so far, they’re keen to learn.”
He said TasTAFE’s high quality workshops meant apprentices could use the best quality equipment. Mr Kirkman helped coordinate and judge the NT WorldSkills cabinet making competitions, which fourth-year apprentice Tom Berndt won recently.
