Emergency service crews were called to the Grices Road residence at Tea Tree about 7.30am.
Upon arrival fire crews found the house engulfed with flames.
Efforts to save the residence were unsuccessful. No one was home at the time of the fire.
A forensic investigation was conducted by police, fire and forensic officers.
Detective Senior Constable Jess Renton said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
“No other properties were in any danger due to rural nature and distances between neighbouring residences,” she said.
The fire is being treated as suspicious until the cause can be determined.
Police are calling on anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in area on Friday morning to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
