Written by Lin Manuel-Miranda, In the Heights follows characters throughout the course of three days in the largely Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York City.
Producer Liz Bennett said it was unique to anything the college had performed previously.
“After our productions of Bring It On and Rock of Ages, we wanted to do something that would really challenge us," she said.
“This musical is about finding a home, so it is quite relevant.
“It features a fusion of Latino and hip hop music, and we have staff and students working together in the band, which is great.”
The production features 150 students, including 105 onstage performers.
In the Heights will be performed from August 2 to August 5 at the Princess Theatre.
Tickets can be purchased at the venue or over the phone.
