Duffy made a dream start to the five-day series on Tuesday, edging out a field of 21 to take out the junior men’s scratch race.
Things looked to have turned sour when the 2016 Devonport Wheel winner crashed out midway through the the junior mens elimination race and sprained his wrist, but he carried on to honour his entry with South Australia’s Harry Askew in the under-19s madison.
Duffy couldn’t repeat his day one heroics in the Wednesday junior men’s scratch race, but still managed to finish in sixth place.
He was also set to compete in the junior men’s points race on Wednesday afternoon.
Fellow Tasmanians Lauren Perry and Macey Stewart both performed well in the elite women’s madison, teaming up with Victorian Ruby Roseman-Gannon and Queensland’s Kristina Clonan to finish second and third respectively.
The former junior world champions recorded mixed results in the elite women’s omnium, with Stewart finishing in fifth overall and Perry four places back in ninth.
Stewart fell just short of taking out the elimination race, where she finished in second place, and finished sixth or higher in the scratch, points and tempo races.
Perry’s best effort was a fifth-place ride in the scratch race.
The series will continue at Thornbury’s DISC Velodrome on Thursday before wrapping up on Saturday.
