Tasmania Police Acting Inspector Mike Gillies said the crane drove off the side of the road and crashed into a power pole.
“There is nothing to indicate, at the stage, that speed or alcohol had any impact … and no information to suggest (the crash) was a result of the road,” he said.
The driver of the Cranes Combined crane received minor injuries.
Inspector Gillies said the driver “was very lucky”.
“It was a very large vehicle, so we’re very happy that there weren’t serious injuries to the driver or anyone else in the area,” he said.
The crash occurred about about 6.30am and TasNetworks worked to restore the outages from 8.30am.
Houses in Antill Ponds, Campbell Town, Conara, Epping Forrest, Lake Leake, Oatlands, Ross, Tunbridge and Woodbury were affected.
The crash occurred five kilometres north of Campbell Town.
Police are calling for witnesses to the crash.
