The stand-in captain has continued his strong form over the past month with three votes in the four-point win against Glenorchy.
The standout game was Cox-Goodyer’s third best-on-ground performance this season that has pushed the onballer to 12 votes.
He now joins his coach Tom Couch, the North Launceston duo just trailing last year’s Player of the Year winner Jaye Bowden.
The Magpies star forward maintains a three-vote lead despite not polling votes in the grand-final rematch back at UTas Stadium.
Tigers half-back Mitch Carter earned three votes for his game against Launceston at Windsor Park, moving just five votes behind Bowden in equal fourth.
Carter joins Blues pair Rulla Kelly-Mansell and Brodie Palfreyman on 10 votes, who are all just one behind Lauderdale’s Thor Boscott.
Launceston youngsters Connor Smith and Jake Hinds picked up two and one votes respectively in their side’s five-point victory over Tigers on Saturday.
